I was in New Jeresy and my friends kept talking about Paradise Biryani Pointe, an AWESOME biryani place in Edison, NJ. His friends from India even said that place has the best biryani (even better than the ones he had in India!) I had been craving for biryani for months and it was a no brainer to pay that place a visit.
What's biryani? When I had it the first time, I thought it was just Indian fried rice (alright, I will get yelled at soon...). Well, I was wrong. Biryani consists of two sets of rice, flavored and unflavored, and they are layered on the top of each other (many layers). That's why you see yellow rice and white rice. The (raw) meat will then be sandwiched between the layered rice and then it'll be cooked using some special methods (out of my knowledge). Folks, please correct me if I have misunderstood anything.
The rice: Fantastic! This place made extremely good basmati rice. I give it 5 out of 5 grains.
The food: We only ordered biryani and it was DELICIOUS! Two big pieces of chicken were buried inside a big plate of basmati rice. The rice has really flavorful and the chicken was very tender. Loved it! I give it 5 out of 5 grains. By the way, we didn't order any other indian dishes here so I have no idea if their indian food is good.
