Curry is one of the most popular dishes in Japan. I remembered this youtube clip and wanted to try some in New York City. The place mentioned in the clip was Curry-ya but we were too far and too hungry so we settled for Go Go Curry.
Based on some searches on the web, Go Go Curry might be a fast-food curry chain in Japan. I couldn't read Japanese so I couldn't tell for sure; maybe I'll find out when I go to Japan in a few months. As the name suggested, you can only find curry dishes in Go Go Curry. They have Pork, Chicken, Sausage, or Mega, which combined all three. I, of course, ordered the Mega Curry plate :) and split some with a friend.
The rice: The rice didn't wow me or disappoint me so I guess it's average. I give it 3 out of 5 grains.
The food: Maybe my expectation was a bit high, I find the food to be average only. The curry sauce was a bit on the salty side and there wasn't much aroma to speak of. Curry with sausage was just awful (I actually didn't finish it and I rarely left food on the plates); the pork katsu and chicken katsu were tasty but their tastes are so similar that I couldn't tell if I was having different meats. The being said, it's actually decent for fast-food style curry. I give it 3 out of 5 grains.
